The Merlin, Alderley Edge

16th September 2011 11:45:03

Yesterday I had the pleasure of entertaining two business associates at The Merlin in Alderley Edge. We were greeted with a very warm welcome on arrival, and shown to a cosy corner, complete with cowhide chairs.

The menus were extensive, and the decision about what to choose was a tough one! Two of us opted for a rustic bread, olive oil & roasted garlic combo starter, followed by salmon, prawn and caper fishcakes, complete with a poached egg, spinach and hollandaise sauce. Our other companion went for the two-course special: leak, potato and watercress soup, followed by haddock kedgeree.

Our meal was a resounding success, our only regret... we didn't have room for a pudding. Next time we will!

The Merlin not only has an impressive website, but are also on Twitter too! Check them out!
