Speculation Builds Around Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress

After the announcement of her engagement to Prince William, speculation is growing as to who is to design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.

Easily the frontrunner is Brazilian designer and celebrity favourite, Daniella Helayel. The founder of Issa – the label that’s an essential for It-girls all over the world – recently designed an outfit for Kate to wear at pal Harry Meade’s wedding. The dazzling blue dress, which features in most of the publicity shots used upon the announcement of their engagement, is said to be one of her favourite frocks, adding to the rumours that Helayel will design the dress for Kate’s big day.

No stranger to having custom clothes made for her, the princess-to-be has reportedly been stockpiling couture clothing in preparation for her engagement to William, and there’s no doubt that her wedding dress is going to receive a huge amount of attention on the big day. Only serving to exacerbate rumours, Daniella Helayel has recently turned her artistic hand to designing wedding dresses – one of which she auctioned off for charity earlier this year, and another she designed for Jessica Simon, the daughter of Peter Simon, the owner of Monsoon.

Kate Middleton’s name has become practically synonymous with Issa, and Helayel has been nothing short of adoring of the Prince’s new fiancée, “Whenever I see pictures of her - and of course the press is totally obsessed with her – I do think: ‘wow’.  She was pictured in a red dress recently, and it was totally stunning. This magazine had ten pages of her wearing it, so there’s no way that you cannot pay attention, she looked beautiful.”

While no official statement has been made about Kate’s wedding dress, it is thought that the designer will be confirmed well before the Royal Wedding.

I do hope they dont dress her in a meringue. She has a lovely figure and would look lovely in something fitted. Maybe a grecian type dress.
