More than £6,500 was raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Society at the Moon and Stars Ball. The event, which took place at Stockport Town Hall, included a raffle and auction and was organised by Jenny Furness, who contracted MS in 2006. It is the second time she has organised an event for the society.
She said: ‘I feel very lucky to have had the help and support I have had with my condition. I wanted to be able to help others. The society does research into a cure and I hope one day they will find one. If the ball raises money to help it happen that is fantastic.’
