Fiona Morris from Wilmslow is the Chief Executive of East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield. In her spare time she likes to dine out, particularly at these establishments

Michael Caines’s Restaurant and Champagne Bar
5th Floor, Abode Hotel, Grosvenor Road, Chester, CH1 2DJ
Tel 01244 347000 www.abodehotels.co.uk

This is located on the 5th floor with fantastic views over Chester and the Welsh Hills and an outside terrace overlooking the racecourse. There are three different ways of dining from either the a la carte, grazing menu or tasting menu. Great food and friendly service.

Cafe Bar Arighi
Arighi Bianchi, Silk Road, Macclesfield, SK10 1LH

One of my favourite places in Cheshire for lunch and afternoon tea. The food is fantastic and I find it perfect either going with friends for a catch-up or for conducting lunch meetings with colleagues.

Eastern Revive
5-6 Warham Street, Wilmslow Green, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 1BT
01625-536998 www.easternrevive.co.uk

I’m very lucky to have this place within a 10-minute walk from home; this is an absolute delight for Indian food lovers.  The service is great, the food first class and there’s a wide variety from the more traditional to original dishes and chef’s specials.

Room
81 King Street, Manchester, M2 4AH
0161-839-2005 www.roomrestaurants.com

Room has recently been awarded two AA Rosettes and it’s well-deserved. Set in an historic building, it’s a great backdrop for a buzzing bar and fantastic restaurant.  The food is based on classic dishes with a contemporary twist.  The all-inclusive menu offers great value as an introduction to the Room experience.

The French at The Midland
Peter Street, Manchester, M60 2DS
0871 230 5347 www.qhotels.co.uk

The French was the first Michelin-starred restaurant in the UK and once experienced it’s never forgotten.  I’ve very fond memories of my father taking me here as a child which was a real treat. It’s so elegant, the service is excellent, and the food is stunning. It’s a great place for that special occasion as well as business dinners and client entertainment.  n
