Date and Venue Set for Royal Wedding
By Dan Coman on November 23rd 2010
Great Britain Celebrates a Great British Wedding.
The date and venue for Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding has been announced.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to be married on Friday 29th April 2011 at Westminster Abbey. The Government has designated the occasion as a national bank holiday, and David Cameron welcomed the announcement of the wedding date.
The couple have chosen Westminster Abbey for the ceremony, a senior Royal aide has revealed, because of its significant Royal history. It was thought that the couple may choose a more private venue, but the tradition of Westminster Abbey was judged to be fitting for the importance of the ceremony.
It has been reported that the Prince and Kate would like the wedding to be "a classic British occasion".
Many of the details are yet to be finalised, but it has been announced that the Royal family and the Middletons will pay for the cost of the wedding and reception, while the taxpayer will pick up auxiliary costs such as security and cleaning after the event.
The guestlist, Prince William's best man, and the transport to Wesminster Abbey is yet to be confirmed, as well as Kate Middleton's dress designer. To read more about who may design Kate's dress, click here.

Congratulations to the young couple. May they stay just as they are. Take no notice of the miserable spoilsports who would ruin your happiness. They are only jealous.
